Take Care of Your Health!

An email that I received from a friend of mine who is in his mid-30's.. Take good care of your health my friends..

Dear friends.

I wish to inform everyone  who knows me that I am suffering from coronary heart disease. I suffered a mild heart attack on the 18th November 2010 a day after Hari Raya Haji near SAJ Larkin while walking to attend a meeting at 10.30am.
It all happened while I was crossing the road from Plaza Larkin. Suddenly my chest felt tight and I had difficulty breathing. I asked for help from people who were passing by but none of them stop. One of the guy even asked me to use a cane to walk as if I am Dr House.“pakai lah tongkat he said” (so rude- Perhaps their parents have taught them well “Don’t you ever talk to strangers”  Isn’t that what we all teach our children??. Something to ponder about, don’t you think so??

Then both of my hand muscles were cramped (this is what the doctors call muscle spams). I sat down near the kerb as I can’t bear the excruciating pain at chest. I try to hail a taxi but none of them stop. Can you image being near a Bus Terminal where there is beeline of taxis yet none of them stopped. Isn’t that really ironic!!!

So while I was sitting near the kerb feeling nausea and sweating , came an old man asking me to breath slow. Nafas pelan pelan he said to me. I told him Abang boleh tak abang duduk dengan saya sekejap. I gave him money and asked to be with me for awhile. So to cut the story (u can ask me later what happened in between), the chap walked with me towards my car and I drove myself (stupid thing to do) to a clinic in Taman U without realizing that I was suffering a heart attack. I was still sweating and I thought I was having bad gastric pain.(gastric is one of the symptom of heart attack)

The doctor told that was me I was suffering from gastric.( aa ah as I suspected…hmm all the series that of Dr House and ER that I watched finally paid off … I am half cook Doctor.. ). The doctor gave oral medicine but I insisted him giving me a shot as I need to recover fast. After the shot I felt the pain was reducing, the doctor gave a MC of 3 days.

Then I went back to the office to get my things, as I was climbing the stairs I felt the pain at chest. So to cut the story (u can ask me later what happened in between) I fainted in the office (I felt relaxed after fainting) and was rushed to the hospital by brothers.( I called them).

I checked in the hospital and told them that I was having a chest pain (although I was really relaxed at that moment in time). The nurses rushed me the ER and medical officer told me that I was suffer from a heart attack after carrying out some ECG. I asked him was he really sure? He showed me the ECG ( to me the ECG seemed normal) and never explained anything. I thought the MO is trying to pull my leg. Soon the cardiologist came and the first thing he asked me do you have insurance... and I answered “Hmmm Nope”. (.So for those who don’t have insurance please purchase one. You can get it from Mr Mubarak as he is an agent) The cardiologist told me that I was having a heart attack and he would like to carry out angiogram tomorrow.

The next day angiogram was carried out ( rasa  malu as you  have to be naked.  all the young and old nurses screening your entire body) and it was confirmed that I have blocks in my arteries and I need to carry out coronary artery bypass graft (CABG pronounced cabbage) surgery as Angioplasty is impossible to do.

I was rushed to K.L the next day in an  ambulance and further check up were carried out and was told come back on the 14 /12/2010 to carry out CABBAGE surgery. Suddenly my world has become so small. I use to travel between 200km to 1000km a day and I have circled the earth nearly 6times, but now I am only confined to my house. (I have cut it short and removed all the rollercoaster emotions for this blog or facebook)

This is the important part

So here I would like to apologize to everyone if I have said or done things which might have hurt your feelings. ( I nak minta maaf kepada semua orang  jika ada salah silap  maaf zahir&batin ) . I please pray for me. Thank you

Best Regards
Salman
